Very good and informative (yes, even though it's fictional, I learned a lot about the Harlem Renaissance and the people involved), but very slow š I think it could have been cut down a little because the pacing had me a bit bored at times. I'm glad to know about Jessie Fauset's life, but I was also a little disappointed that the book was entirely framed around her relationship with W.E.B. DuBois. I would have liked to read more about her life independent of him, even though I do understand that this is when she was most prolific and active in her writing/editing career. Their relationship was super interesting and the way DuBois was portrayed through Jessieās eyes was something I really enjoyed. I also really liked seeing other side ācharactersā through her lens (like Langston Hughes and Nella Larson)
