 Just...no

I should have DNFd. The only good thing I can say is that it went by quickly because I was drawing/working while I listened and I got through it faster than I realized.

This book is nothing but sex with very little plot. Which makes for a very boring book when you don't care about any of the characters. Worse when none of the characters are particularly likable or interesting.

If you still want to read this after my very lackluster review, make sure you check the author's website for content warnings. There's definitely some stuff that could make people uncomfortable.

This is my second Cassandra Khaw book and probably my last. I just don’t think her stuff is for me. This book specifically has so much body horror and gore in it that I couldn’t really enjoy it (especially considering how short it is). The topics she writes about are always intriguing but the end result never quite works for me

This took me a while to read (my fault, not the book), but I really liked it. Super creepy climate horror novella, with metaphors for grief and musings on identity and connections to culture. If your brain is cooperating it should be a quick read for you because it’s just over 100 pages 😊
