This felt a little all over the place to me. It seemed like it was trying to evoke The Wicker King, which is one of my favorite books, but it fell flat. It didn’t help that the narrator did a pretty clunky Australian accent

This was fine but had barely any plot and the whole conflict relied on miscommunication, which is one of my least favorite romance tropes 

I just got bored and didn’t care anymore 🫠 The book was way too long for a story that is mostly character study and minimal action
