damn, this felt more low stakes thatn the first one, even though it really wasn't... the ending God, girl's trauamtized now, and i can feel an even bigger shift in the next one, maybe some revenge. also i guessed right, not entirely at first, but knew it anyways. will definetly read the 3rd one too

this was cute, and i liked Henri and her friends, her lab partners and her lunch buddies. Kat was super annoying, never liked her, dyscalculia was explained well (i also have it) and i liked Vinnie. i also appreciated the little nod to Palestine, nothing big but it still made me smile.

interesting story based on greek mythology, the characters were nice, the plot twist was predictable and i don't think i'm interested enough to read the sequel. the narrator was nice

probably the best YA fantasy i've ever read, the way i devoured this without getting distracted is insane. the characters were all amazing although i had a soft spot for Altair the most. side characters always do it for me. the plot twists and reveals were crazy, didn't expect them, especially that epilogue! damn i need the second book fast, but please don't become spicy... me can't stand it

so she didn't defeat the demon king, ok... in all seriousness this audiobook was fun, it was narrated by the same gal who narrated the Mystwick series, so I know I like her! the story was so much fun and refreshing, I actually really enjoyed a fantasy world that's an RPG, and the MC was really cool and fun. i definitely recommend this one to  MG and YA fans especially LOZ fans!

interesting book learned about the word lame's history, about dysplasia, more about Florida and the mermaid attractions there. found the MC annoying regarding her wanting to have sex, even though her parents disapproved, with good reason! she's still young, she has her whole life ahead of her! regarding not wanting to get surgery yet, I agreed with her. her struggles with pain felt familiar to me. Alex was sweet, and I liked her friends and her mermaid colleagues. i did cried around the end, it felt very realistic.

educational and fun, i liked the last chapter for trying to ground the conversation to real life

it was a fun interesting book, it went slow and nothing remotely horror happened until like 30 ish percent in but I guess it was useful to get the character fleshed out. this book was more about friendships and smashing the patriarchy than it was about a zombie apocalypse. maybe it was because it wasn't exactly a zombie apocalypse and because it was too upbeat, which worked for me, because I can't exactly stand horror much, but the ending was a bit of a letdown. too upbeat if you ask me, needed a bit more deep realization of the horror that they witnessed and all the trauma. they killed lots and lots of people, even if they were infected. lots and lots of people are dead, this is a tragedy, not a mere media celebration. sure they should be happy they survived but they seemed to forget all the shit too fast. their actions and feelings weren't very realistic, unfortunately. and I was expecting a lot because the character was a dyscalculic girl with GAD, but she felt too confident and strong, as if this was all a movie and not you know, real? i guess I'm talking nonsense. maybe being too realistic would've made this book too dark, which was;t what the author wanted (you can see from the synopsis and the cover plus the title) but just a little mention of all this horrid experience and so many people being dead in the end would've been enough for me. anyways it was a fun use of time, I recommend it to teenagers who like zombies, fandoms, and people who love friendships being the star of the story.

interesting story, liked the POTS rep as someone who may or may not have this illness on top of the other chronic ones... the plot twist wasn't that surprising and the story just sounded too close to Barbie and the three musketeers, like a LOT, still a good enough YA story though. finished it in 4 to 5 hours only. also quite predictable and the characters just felt distant to me... couldn't relate to anyone but the MC a little...

fun and interesting, the ending was a bit bittersweet
