read this as the writer is Palestinian, and the artist is Jordanian and the work SLAYED. I got all the messages it showed and the real-life counterparts. I don't know how this is fantasy though, it seemed more like an alternate historical fiction in a different world but still, it was pretty good. I just wish It was a bit longer so the pacing could've been better and the relationships between all the characters be more explored. otherwise, the story and art were amazing. would read a potential sequel for sure.
it was interesting and both girls felt relatable but Nada more as a Muslim, tho I'm not Arab I liked that it tried to differentiate religion and culture, as there are definitely a ton of things about Saudi that I don't like and don't have to do with Islam. anyways this was fun, will probably read the rest too.
it was pretty interesting, I truly liked and cared for both MCs. I thought Islam would have a larger involvement but oh well. I learned some stuff about Pakistan but I can't help but feel it's outdated. also, it was wild seeing that the elections were a big part of the story, while elections just happened there again.
Perfect. Aliyah truly is an incredible author, motivator, and preacher of Islam! Love it, will definitely read and fill Ramadan Refelctions too this Ramadan insha'Allah. Would love to see her write more!
forgive me but i dont know how to put my thoughts and feelings into words. i only started this series like two years ago (read only the 1st one and then the rest last year) and i still felt sad and nostalgic to see the end. this series is one of my favorite hands down. it has ATLA vibes which I LOVE except it's more high fantasy and sci-fi. it has deep lessons, likeable and reedemable chatacters and a kind of couclusive but open ending. i'm happy to have found this and i will love to get physdcial copies and reread them in the future.
this was relatable especially Zakat, as im also a hijabi artist who's insecure and anxious like her. the others girls were cool too, but it was weird seeing them dating when they're Muslim... i don't get it. the story was sensitive and so real though.
so relaxing loved the story within the story, Kazu was such a precious MC. i liked the theme and being magical realism. the ending was too rushed in my opinion but I still really enjoyed this book, probably the best I read this year so far (for context I only read 5 books but oh well). wanna read more books from Japanese authors now, and magical realism. highly recommend!
so long suckers i got an A!!! studying sometimes pays off that's all I'm gonna say!
considering how many chapters came out its safe to assume ive read this volume entirely. and so many new things happened. Loid is a softy and i know he loves Yor and so does she. there's a vibe that more about Anya (or shall I say ANIA) will be shown soon, the grandparents are sweet but sus, Anya finally got a stella star in academics while she got a tonitrus bolt at the same day lol. i love this manga so much. also the recent chapter was so funny as it was set as an entire who done it mystery arc and it ended in one chapter because of Anya's and Bond's powers lol
This was pretty touching but cool thst thid journalist is pro palestinian even though they have no connections just sees the truth with their eyes. The illustrations were i teresting but the comic felt unfinished for some reason
