It was great to learn about the natural history of Europe and it was great to discover some less known scientist.
The book is full of information, facts, anecdotes and it's both fascinating and enthralling.
This a very good scientific book as fascinating as a well written novel.

This books is both a mystery and the depiction of a historical period, the one after WWII.
It's a gentle, gripping and fascinating book, full of interesting characters both eccentric and quirky.
I loved the cast of characters, well written and fascinating as much as I loved the depiction of the historical time frame.
The pace was gentle but engripping, it keeps you guessing and it keeps you hooked till the last page.
A good addiction to the British Library Crime Classics.

One of the best mystery I read in a long time. It's entertaining and a real page turner, once I started I was hooked could not put it down.
There's a very interesting setting with all the changes that WWI is bringing to London and to women position.
It 's well researched, with interesting and well developed characters and the right dose of humour. The plot is well developed and there is no plot hole nor anything left unsolved.
A great start for a new series, look forward to reading the next instalment.
