This book was a joy to read, one of those book that makes you appreciated how the language, the characters, and the setting mix and makes you feel like you are living in the book with them.
I knew about Brandon Sanderson, I read other books and his work with the Wheel of Time, but it's been a long time since last I read the beginning of a series that made me think "Oh, I needed it in my life.".
Now I will wait for the next instalment in this series and hope it will be out soon because I want more Spensa.
A wonderful debut for a series, highly recommended!

I never read anything in this series but I knew the writer so I didn't know what to expect.
This was a great discovery.
Even if I didn't read the other books in this series it was easy to understand what was going on in this novella and who the characters were.
I loved it, it's full of humour and wonderful characters. The style of writing is great and the novella makes you wish you had read the entire series.
I cannot wait to read the other books and look forward to reading the next instalment.

What a lovely cozy mystery! I didn't read the previous instalment but I had no problems in understanding the lovely cast of characters and what was going.
I loved the plot, that kept guessing till the end, as much as the setting and the cast of characters.
The style of writing was very good, the plot is engaging and entertaining.

I love books about manners, etiquette, and history and this book was perfect.
An enjoyable and thought provoking look at the lifestyle of the elites of the Gilded Age.
It's well researched, well written, and you cannot help being fascinated and repulsed at the same time by the lifestyle of the elites.
A very good book, highly recommended!

Even if it could be classified as historical mystery there is much more in this book.
First of all it's a wonderful book, one those book you read slowly, savouring the style of writing and the development of characters.
I read somewhere that there are some historical inaccuracies but that's something that has no meaning in such a complex and enthralling work.
It was my first book by this writer but it surely won't be the last as I was fascinated by this atmospheric and engaging work.
It's one of those book that helps you rediscover the pleasure of reading a well written and complex book.

This was the first book I read in this series and really appreciated it.
The heroine is a strong woman and the love interest if fascinating.
It was an enjoyable and entertaining read that made me laugh and root for the heroine.

A wonderful thriller set in Greenland. It's dark, I usually don't like Scandinavian mystery but this one was wonderful, atmospheric and enthralling.

The first part was engaging and interesting but then the book failed to delivered and I felt there was no real suspense.
