This is one of those books that makes you feel like being punched with every discovery and turns but you want more.
It's a wild ride told by a gentle narrator, a voice that makes the punches hit harder.
Sebastian Barry is a master storyteller and this is one of the most intriguing and thought provoking book I read in quite a long time.
A literary story that makes rediscover the pleasure of complex stories and characters.
Highly recommended.

An entertaining and solid mystery that kept me guessing. It's bit slow at times but it kept me turning pages and guessing.

A cozy mystery with an unusual setting, a great cast of likeable and fleshed out characters, and a solid plot that kept me guessing
I can't wait to read other books by this author as I would be happy to read more stories set in the drag world of Dublin.

I usually fall in love with Carolyn Brown's cover and the I fall in love with the story. This one confirmed the trend and made me smile and root for the characters.

I'm a bit unobservant and didn't notice it was book nr 9 in a series. There's a long summary of what happened and who's who at the beginning of the book and this helped me to understand what I read and enjoy it.
This a very complex saga with a lot of different scenario, populations and characters.
I loved the attention to the details, the world building and the well developed characters.
It's an entertaining and compelling story.

I never read Annie Ernaux before and I was a bit wary as it could have been a very sophisticated and dry book.
i was wrong: it's a memoir that talks about a collective experience, makes you think and remember similar experiences.
An excellent book, a great storyteller.

There's not a lot of Regency historical fiction. There's a lot of romance, there's Georgette Heyer and not much more as far as I know.
This was a mix of historical fiction with some magic realism elements. Neva is a fascinating character and the plot is riveting and entertaining.
An excellent read, Highly recommended.
