Fell in love with the cover and then I fell in love with the world building and the plot. An excellent story that can be loved by adult and children.

I had fun and liked this sort of vigilante serial killer mixed with a loving friend type of character. I liked and disleked her at the same as some scene are a bit too gorey.
The dark humour and the twisty plot kept me reading.
It's not easy to review it and I'm on the fence

I'm a fan of John Dickinson Carr and other Golden Age mystery writer so locked room mystery means that there will be a body in a locked room, no way to access it but a murder took place. It's an impossibile crime in a locked room.
This is a thriller featuring a limited number of suspects, a tons of storylines and I enjoyed it as it kept me on the edge and I couldn't guess the twists or the culprit.
Entertaining, complex, a bit confusing at times.

Heliogabalus is a sort of myth, an anti-hero or a sort of rivolutionary hero.
This is the historical biography I read and it's very entertaining and informative.
I loved the style of writing and the author knows what he's talking about.

The style of writing made me think about about some writer of the beginning of XX century: a bit baroque and full of images, nearly symbolistic.
I wasn't a fan of the book as I found it a confusing at times and it was hard to understand why the characters acted in a certain way.
I think there's potential and I would be curious to read the rest of the series.

This is one of the best book I read about spell craft. It's more than a series of formulas and ingredients, it's a book that made me reflect and take a hard look at me.
