A fast read, a cast of likeable and fleshed out characters, humour and a solid mystery that kept me guessing.
This is the start of a new cozy series and I want to read other books as I thoroughly enjoyed this one.

An unsual way to tell the story of a country and its people. There's pies and there's stories about people who faced the changes in the society.
An interesting read and an intriguing approach.
Highly recommended.

Sometimes you are attracted by a book on site like Edelweiss and you don't know anything about the author but you're happy because the book is excellent.
This is an excellent book that I enjoyed, a fascinating story that deals with serious topics but also delivers an entertaining and solid mystery.

3.5 upped to 4
Not a light or entertaining story but thought provoking and well plotted even if a bit too slow in the first two parts.
We are in a world where something happened and we are in a desert where violence is quite common.
Religion and fanatism are a way to survive and Magdala is trying to read a holy town (Las Vegas) and be healed.
It took me ages to read to the third part and it felt like a different book because it's the most interesting and fast paced part.
The apocaliptic background is interesting but some more details would help.
Be patient and you will be rewarded.
