When I think about Kiki de Montparnasse and Man Ray I visualize Le violon d’Ingres and that was all I knew about their relationship and about Kiki.
This well researched book make me learned a lot about these two artists and the great characters that were part of their world.
It's a highly recommended read if you want to learn about an exceptional woman and her life.
Highly recommended.

It's a funny story that made me smile and root for Amy. Being able to see the final part of a relationship can be quite a curse and I liked how the author dealt with the impact on Amy's life and how she delivered a compelling story.
Funny, well plotted and romantic.
Recommended.

I didn't wanted to finish this book and say goodbye to Sadie and Sam. I loved the, loved their refreshing and interesting relationship, and enjoyed this heartwarming and riveting story that kept me reading, smiling, thinking.
I work in high tech and I appreciated the depiction of women in STEM and in the gaming world. Sadie and Sam are two likeable, clever, and well developed character.
The author is an excellent storyteller and made me fell in love with this story since the first pages.
I loved it and it's strongly recommened.

The end of a series it's always a bitter-sweet moment and if you loved the characters it may be hard to say good bye.
I discovered this series using Netgalley and fell hard for the "strange couple" Ian Frey and Adolphus "Nine Nails" McGray. They're a perfect match in a sort of positivism vs occultism and this differences made them a very effective couple of detective. They're also complex person and there's always a fun side that makes me smile.
As this was the final story part of me wanted to read it very fast and part of me was reluctant to say goodbye.
I thoroughly enjoyed this twisty and gripping novel, it surprised me and kept me hooked. It's a gothic novel with plenty of humour.
We get to know what happened and all the mysteries were solved in a very satisfying way.
I loved this series and think it was one the most entertaining in the historical mystery field.
I can't wait to read the next book by Oscar de Muriel and I'm sure I won't be disappointed.
This gripping and entertaining novel is strongly recommended.

I always know I'm going to learn something new when I read a S.G McLean novel as there's plenty of researches and the historical background is always detailed and vivid.
I knew something about Culloden and the Raisings as I'm a fan of Outlander but this book made me understand what was the aftermath and how people were affected.
As for Prince Bonnie Charles it's a fun story as his wife belonged to the family of my former German teacher and I can say I wasn't one of his fan when I was a teenager.
It's a historical mystery but it's also a description of what happen when you are on the losing side and how the situation is still uncertain.
Ian is a survivor of Culloden, his face is scarred. His entire family is supporting Prince Bonnie Charles.
His granmother and her friends are great characters, strong ladies that I loved. I found all the women in this book interesting as they were affected by the history losing their freedom or worse.
The plot is well done, gripping and kept me turning pages. There's a lot of twists, secrets, and the history is a sort of character, not only the background.
I hope this is the first in a series because I liked Ian and loved the Grand Dames.
I strongly recommend it.

3.5* upped to 4
It's the first book I read by this author and I found it intriguing even if a bit confused at times.
The life of people who run away from Europe during WWII, people in exile who risked being considered the enemy, the impact of the war.
There's a lot in this book, it's a good historical fiction but I wasn't a fan of Maria
It's well plotted and it flows

There's a lot of hype and I'm always a bit wary about hype, high expectations, and so on.
It wasn't love at first page as it took a bit to fell in love with this book but it was one of those slow burning love story that can last a life time.
A complex world building and complex story, great characters, the right level of epics and emotions.
R.R. Virdi is an excellent storyteller and I read this very huge book and alway kept on turning pages even if it's a bit slow at times.
I loved it and hope the rest of the series will be up to this one.
Highly recommended. Many thanks to the publisher for this ARC, all opinions are mine

Cameron delivers a great fantasy novel set in a mythological age and featuring gods, humans, and monsters.
