Netgalley is a good way to discover new authors that I'm going to like. This is an entertaining and gripping urban fantasy that I thoroughly enjoyed.
Good world-building and storytelling, interesting characters.

I'm a fan of Jonathan Stroud and I'm loving this series.
The humour, the fleshed out characters, the original and fascinating world building, the masterful storytelling: all the elements that make me love this author are present in this book.
Highly recommended.

I think it features a lot of elements that made me love a thriller and it's well written. Unfortunately I couldn't care for the characters and the story fell flat.
Not my cup of tea.

This one of the best fantasy series of these years and this book is even better than the The Pariah.
There's a lot of action, battles, but also politic and the game of the powerful.
Great world building and storytelling, the character development is brilliant and i'm wondering about their character arc.
I loved it and thoroughly enjoyed this story.

I think there's a lot of potential in this Spanish inspired fantasy but there's a big BUT for me: I consider bullfighting a fascinating but very cruel sport and this book is a sort of peana to to bullfighting or dragonfighting.
At a certain point I was rooting for the dragons.
So even if it's not a bad book there's something that made me hard to read this story.
Not my cup of tea.

Oni Press graphic novels are excellent and this one is a sweet and well told story.
The drawings are great and the well developed plot is well done.
Another story I loved and it's highly recommended.

It's a very original book and, as I discovered a quite controversial one. I like it and liked the plot and the world building.
I think that the author deliver an interesting and unusual story that I enjoyed.

A excellent, gripping, and riveting noir set in Cuba during the 50s. A story that made me think about Chandler or Hammett and I couldn't put down.
The historical background is vivid and it was interesting to travel to Cuba during the 50s.
Great character and plot development, a solid story that kept me hooked.
Highly recommended.

A fast paced and gripping police procedural who kept me on the edge. I liked the team working and the clues left by the authors that helped you but never gave the solution away.
It's the first I read by this author and won't surely be the last.

This is a review I find hard to write as this is a compelling and well written fantasy book but it's a very personal retelling of a historical character.
I loved the style of writing, I didn't like how a feminist retelling didn't take into account that spirituality was the expression of freeedom for women in the age of Joan.
Joan is not the mystic burn as a witch for political reason and even I wasn't a fan of the "fantasy" Joan
To clarify: it this is a fantasy, good book. I don't agree and don't like it as a historical fiction.
I'm sure a lot of people will love it, it's not my cup of tea.
