I wanted to review this story on 25th May (The Glorious Revolution of the Twenty-Fifth of May) but today it's Terry Pratchett's birthday and I thought it would be a good day.
I think this is the best of all Discworld, a mix of past and present, a bitter-sweet story that moved me and made me laugh.
There's some less jokes but the plot always keeps me turning pages as fast as I can.
Terry Pratchett is a master storyteller and he excels in this story.
I think this a book you must read as it's Discworld at its best.

This is one of my favorite series so I'm very sad to have to say good bye to these characters.
It ends with a BANG and a gripping mystery that kept me turning pages and guessing.
The plot is well developed and gripping, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I hope there will be more as it was a well written and compelling series.
Highly recommended.

An intriguing and entertaining historical mystery that I thoroughly enjoyed.
The mystery is solid and kept me guessing, the characters are fleshed out, and the historical background is vivid.
It's the first I read in this series and won't surely be the last.

I didn't read Ariadne and I was curious to see what this retelling of the story of Elektra was going to be.
The stories of the Atreidae are a complex mix of violence, revenge, and the women in this family were already strong women as told by Sophocles or Euripides.
As for Cassandra I think that the novel by Christa Wolf was the mother of all the Greek mythology feminist retelling.
That said I think that the author did a good job in developing her version of Elektra/Clytemnestra and Cassandra but even if I liked them I felt like something was missing and the mythological heroines were stronger and more complex.
It's an interesting read, the characters are fleshed out, and the historical side is well researched.
But I felt like the voice of the characters was too modern for such majestic and archaic heroines.
I'm sure this book can be appreciated by a lot of people, especially if you never met this women before.
It was not my cup of tea.

I didn't read Queenie and had no expectations. I loved People Person since the first pages, it was one of those book that are high on sleep-deprivation-due-to-reading chart.
I found it entertaining, compelling, riveting. Great characters, storytelling and lovely humour.
It's strongly recommended.

I know I'm a bit older than the intended target but i read this book as fast as I could as I loved the storytelling and the great world building.
It's a fascinating story, a somewhat darker reimagining of the unicorn lore, and a great story of coming of age.
World building and character development are excellent.
Highly recommended.

This is an excellent gothic novel but you have to be patient as it's very slow burning and I nearly stopped reading as it was even a bit boring.
Then Sam arrivers in Yorkshire and the pace quickens, things happend, the atmosphere gets darker.
And the book becomes a page turner that I couldn't put down.
But it takes time before you can appreciate the storytelling and the creepy atmosphere.

I had the pleasure of recently reading the Recollection but this was my first Powell's book in a series.
It's the entertaining and fascinating start of a news series: a bit of horror, a bit of dystopia, a lot of tropes of classic sci-fi.
It was an entertaining read. It starts with a bang and the first pages are epic. It becomes a bit slower but it's gripping and I liked what I read.
I liked Eryn, found the Angel fascinating, and loved the talking cat.

Maggie, Sam, and the quirky cast of characters of this series slowly grew on me and I read this book as fast as I could as I wanted to know what was going to happen.
There’s a lot going on, there’s a few subplots. There’s a murder to solve, there’s a development that must be stopped, and the mystery of the supposed suicide of Anne, Sam’s wife.
And there’s some news on the romantic side.
This is another compelling and entertaining story, a solid mystery that kept me guessing. It’s fast paced, and it never drags or let the attention fall.
The quirky characters are as lovely as usual and the twists were surprising as the solution.
I had a lot of fun in reading this series and hope to read other stories featuring these characters.
Highly recommended.
