I wasn't a fan of the first book in this series but I liked this one: entertaining and gripping.
I think it it's better paced and the characters are more developed. Excellent world building.

Erica Ruth Neubauer has a knack for writing gripping, well plotted, and fascinating historical mysteries. Everything works in her books: the historical background is well researched and vivid, the characters fleshed out, the mystery is solid and always keeps me guess.

I loved this book that talks about people travelling via ship during the century. Diffeent types of travels, ships, social classes.
I liked how the different travels were based on real life cases and was fascinated by the descriptions of the itinerary and how they travelled.

Kate Quinn writes excellent historical fiction and the Diamond Eye is another gripping, well researched, and compelling story by this author.
I didn't know anything about Lyudmila Pavlichenko and I was glad to get to know this extraordinary woman who faces the issue of everyday life but who's also a sniper with more than 300 killings under her belt.
The story is set during WWII and it's well researched as usual. Lyudmila Pavlichenko was Ukrainian and this may sound weird due to the ongoing war.
Highly recommended.

An excellent holmesian pastiche: well written and well plotted, the characters are according to the Canon, the mystery kept me hooked and guessing.
I just discovered this excellent series and found this is the last book. Hope there will be more, I've got plenty of other to read.
