This novel is so weird that it's very hard to rate or review. It's one of those book that you love or hate and I supposed that I'm on the love side.
There's a plot and there're characters, something happens and then you don't know if you got it right or wrong.
I had a lot of fun and I strongly recommend to read it with an open mind and not expecting a standard horror/fantasy/etc
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine

It's the first book I read by this author and I hope to read others as I thoroughly enjoyed.
It's well plotted, compelling, and the solid mystery kept me guessing. Fleshed out characters, vivid historical background.
Recommended.

An excellent addition to this excellent series: a gripping and compelling mystery that kept me turning pages.
I was happy to catch up wit the cast of characters, had a lot of fun, and the solid mystery kept me guessing.
i think this is the best story so far and this series improves with each new instalment.
Highly recommended.

Robyn Carr can surely writes stories of families, relationships, and emotions. This was a good story but somehow I didn't care for the characters and the story fell flat.
It's one of those it's me not the book case.

Danger in Numbers ended with a cliff hanger and I've been waiting to read this story since I read that part of the previous story.
This second instalment it's an excellent thriller, fast paced, and action packed. The plot never drags and the twists are always unexpected.
I read it in one sitting as I wanted to know what was going to happen.
I appreciated how the thriller never took the backseat and the romance part worked well without stopping the flow of the story.
The world building is fascinating and I can't wait to read the next story because I want to know what will happen.
The characters are fleshed out and relatable, the storytelling is excellent.
As there's a lot of backstory it can be read as a stand alone but I suggest to read the series in order.
Highly recommended.

This is an excellent debut and it’s also a novel that takes a classic trope of sci-fi, people on a starship reaching an unknown destination, and recreate it adding the right level of creativity to make it fresh and gripping.
There’s a lot going on and we know that this a sort of dystopic community since the start.
What will happen it’s a fascinating and gripping story, an excellent debut by a writer that has a lot of potential.
The storytelling is excellent, the world building fascinating, and the characters are fleshed out and interesting.
There’s a dystopia but there’s also plenty of humour and I appreciated how the creative changes in the language.
I strongly recommend it as it’s highly entertaining and riveting.

The first book was gripping and highly entertaining, this one is even better.
We are back in a dystopia Edinburgh and there's a lot going on a world so similar to the one we live in: social disparity and how the haves look down on the not-haves, mysteries, and a great heroine who's fighting to improve her position and facing the social stigma.
I loved this story and read it as fast as I could.
The storytelling is excellent, great world building and character development.
It's an entertaining book with plenty of food for thought.
Highly recommended.

I love Judy Leigh’s women as they are like I would be when I’m over 70s: full of zest for life, resilient, and strong willed.
Val is another woman that I couldn’t help loving as she’s resilient, strong, and able to start again and living to the max.
I love her and Connie as I loved the characters in this uplifting, life affirming, and heart-warming novel.
It starts in a very sad way, like life can be sad, and it goes on becoming a hymn to life, friendship, and late life chances.
Judy Leigh delivers a poignant and entertaining story, a cast of relatable and likeble fleshed out characters.
She’s an excellent storyteller and I read this story as fast as I could rooting for Val and her friends.
I can’t wait to read another story, this one is highly recommended.
