Some people say this book is hard to put down, but I disagree. Every scene where a woman is abused or a child is neglected was painful to read and I had to put the book down. I suppose the writing is good since it felt real and believable but it was not good enough that I was inspired. It felt like a long painful trudge. Not recommended.
