I cried at the end and I'm not even fully sure why. It felt like an episode of Modern Love. 
The kindness and care these people showed each other, baseball and math serving as common experience and language for a person who has lost all other ways to form new connections. To try and understand what someone loves is to show you love them.

Some stories were really good. Others were a little too weird for me

Although I was at times gripped by the mystery at the center of this novel, there were too many components that were left feeling unresolved, and too many plot points that felt contrived or entirely absurd.
