While this was a wonderful story, with rich details, I found it tough to get through. I was a little disappointed with the death of Smaug because I expected it to be a grander affair. It seemed rushed I suppose. Also, there were parts of the story that seemed shortened or rushed when more details could have been added. But I liked the classic tale and I am very glad to have finally read it.

I’m back to write a quick review! I really enjoyed this fun, whimsical, and other-worldly tale! I connected with Topaz and her restlessness so much! There is such a correlation between the day to day existence of the Mirthlings and us, humans. I felt Topaz’s struggle throughout her adventures and I was so happy with the end!!!

I really enjoyed this super entertaining and quick read! I love that despite knowing Levana’s story, I still dislike her! I was actually worried I’d be sympathetic but I’m not...
I wanted to find out that Channery was a good person, but she also wasn’t and that surprised me.

I loved this book. It reminded me how great this series is. It finally brought all the characters out into the story (love that!) and I'm very excited to read the next book.

For this "re-read" I listened to the Audio book from the library. I am very glad that I chose to re-read this before continuing the series, as I had forgotten a lot of the story. I didn't remember the gory pieces of the story and found it grosser this time around! I still enjoyed it very much.
