The only book that's ever made me sob uncontrollably at 2am.

It held my attention enough for me to read the whole thing, but I'm not sure how this book made it to a publishing house. It belongs in its rightful place in a Chronicles of Narnia fanfiction forum. There weren't enough original ideas here for a whole book.

I was pleasantly surprised by July's book. I've seen both of her movies and found them to be unique, but ultimately underwhelming and unsatisfying. This book, which tells the story of some epic adventures in writer's procrastination, has just enough sincerity and hilarity to make it work.

I loved Boy, Snow, Bird. I love that it starts out as a simple story about a young woman that I'm instantly bought into. But the story progresses, it continues to mature and bring you along for a ride that's both unexpected and welcomed. I'm still working out the last twist, over two weeks later, but I think it ultimately fits in well with the rest of the novel, and its theme of struggling with self identity.
