The first is still my favourite, but I thought this had a lot of nice payoffs from the second book. 

It was good! I kept trying to compare it to the movie but it was so long ago - like I thought there was a temple, not just a hill and a mine shaft. There was also less backstory in the movie. I wish the internet worked so I could read reviews and about the movie.

I still liked it. When the characters were struggling with thirst and hunger, I was too. At first I thought there were too many characters but it was the perfect amount for the story.

Tried to listen to it as an audiobook and I was just uninterested in continuing. Maybe I'll pick it up again when I'm looking for something slow-paced.

Very similar to the movie (which I loved) and just wasn't interested in trying to keep reading.

It just wasn't going anywhere and I was forcing myself to read. I did read a summary and it seems like an interesting enough story if you're liking it!

It was fine, but I got bored listening to it as an audiobook. I’m hoping it’s worth it as build up to the third and last book.
