I found it a little tricky to get into the style of the writing, but once I did it was very entertaining. Some really funny, honest observations on human folly and inconsistencies.
It's started so well, I really love the premise and I have high hopes for it a series but the plot for this one just didn't do it for me.
Overall clunky, and clumsy, as if someone gave the author a list of steps to follow to write a chick lit novel. I was hopeful while reading the second fifth of the book but overall I didn't enjoy it or feel particularly satisfied with the story by the end.
As others have said before, the material itself is now dated, however if that doesn't bother you, the phrasing is great and very entertaining.
Easily read. Lots of interesting ideas in a very readable collection.
It hits scarily close to home. The way reality is woven into the post apocalyptic future is incredible. The references, religious cults, and extension of existing technology and idealisms blows my mind. I preferred it to the first one, I think because I was more used to the style, and also the the Gardener's made me happy.
I'd heard so many good things about this book, I had to try it. I was surprised to discover I wasn't enjoying it at first but by the end I understood the hype. The action, characters and heist over the whole book were generally well done, though perhaps the final "twist" was blatantly obvious.
Over all I would say a good story with interesting characters and world, though a slow start combined with switching characters view points a lot made it difficult to get in to.

Not my favourite by this author, as an audiobook repetitive phasing was quite noticeable. T was entertaining enough on the whole, a safe bet for an easy read piece of gentle urban fantasy.
A perfect tonic to the January blues. As an audiobook it is delightful and can't fail to cheer you up.
