So slow. So many perspectives and nobody particularly clever or funny.
Too much time with Ce Nedra's army. About half the book focused on part of the story I wasn't interested in. The finale was good though.
Good choice of information for children. Very pretty illustrations, definitely needs to be viewed in colour to appreciate the art work.
I liked the premise but it lacked something. I think perhaps the problems and resolutions all came too close together, and characters seemed a little underdeveloped.
I wanted to like this more than I did. It might have been due to the translation, but it was often difficult to follow who was being referred and tenses seemed inconsistent. We were more often told the heists were amazing and clever and Arsen is remarkable than ever having it demonstrated. There were moments I was hopeful it was developing into something more fleshed out, but it never really happened. I won't be continuing with the series.
A very enjoyable book, light, funny and romantic at times, interspersed with serious problems and farcical situations. You can clearly see Jane Austen had been heavily influenced by Frances Burney's writing and spotting some similar themes, names and turns of phrase made it very comfortable to listen to. That being said it's much longer and far more critical of its era's treatment of women and class and more direct with it's observations of some of the worst characters.
The reason it's not 5 stars is most likely due to a change in times (more than 200 years) I didn't really understand the motivations of some of the characters (even after they had been explained) but I imagine it's from a lack of understanding of the time and expectations of their society. Likewise, the romance wast particularly convincing as an epsitolery it rather told than showed the romance. It was also very long, and at times overly gushing which made it drag in places.
I will definitely look into some of her other works.

Fairly average, gratuitous, fan fiction. All were very out of character and many dropped entirely. Easy to read though.
