The characters were so unlikable that it genuinely wasn’t worth finishing. And the letter writing aspect was so unrealistic. Sometimes I’d forget about it, but when I did my eyes would about roll out of my skull.
The gore was gratuitous. The magic seems neat, just can’t get past the gore. Maybe I’ll come back to it some day.
Something felt kind of off but I couldn’t place my finger on it. When he called Roman Polanski “the master” when talking about taking advice about sleeping with young women I figured out what it was.
Soft DNFing for now. Didn’t dislike it, just not feeling it right now. May come back to it eventually.
Soft dnfing for now. Honestly not in the mood for it. Plus it comes off way more juvenile than I think it means to.
I started this and found it very confusing. I don’t typically go for more philosophical stuff so that makes sense for me. I ended up forgetting I had loaned it from the library and it auto returned. I will not be checking it back out.
Soft DNFing for now (but will probably forget about it entirely). This was purchased for me while working towards my masters in social work and now that I’ve been in the field for a decade it hasn’t been anything especially new or interesting and I just don’t feel like reading something this long if I’m not going to gain anything from it.
LSD: My Problem Child – Reflections on Sacred Drugs, Mysticism and Science
DID NOT FINISH: 20%
I do not have the chemistry capabilities to understand any of this.
Not what I was looking for in a Malcolm Gladwell
The science part of my brain (a very small part) isn’t vibing with the science part (literally all of it) of the book.
