This was a very amazing and interesting book. It is very creepy and filled with haunting images but I would not say it is too scary. It was just the right amount of terrifying.
It annoyed me that the chapters were particularly long because I don't like stopping in the middle of a chapter but it was quite a fast read.
The characters are all very interesting and so are the powers they possess and the ancient photographs help depict the book in a way that i wouldn't have thought possible. The aspect of the photos immensely adds to the story helping you picture the photo in your mind as well as adding that extra bit of creepiness.
An amazing book!

This book is so amazing! It's a fantasy read about witches but the mythology is like nothing you've ever read before! It's a fast paced read that you can't put down but at the same time feels like you living life with the main character for decades.
When beginning this book, I was extremely excited about the fact that it is written in 2nd person!!! I've been looking for a book that is written in 2nd person for ages. Now sadly the entire book is not written in 2nd person but actually dabbles in 3rd, 1st, and 2nd person which I thought was really interesting!
Can't wait for more books in this series/by this author!

I thought this book was interesting as a prequel because you get to see the POV from someone infected with the flare. I think DeeDee is Theresa. I thought the Epilogue was unneeded and instead should've shown what DeeDee went on to do.
