The whole idea of Scratch caught my attention, the cover as well. Though I enjoyed Scratch, it wasn't as attention grabbing as I was hoping it would be. The story was good but I just missed the connection I typically get when I read a romance novel.
I liked Casey, her story was tragic, she has an awesome job, she was an all around an interesting character. She reminded me of myself a lot, she kept to herself, preferred to stay home then party, didn't let people in easily. Her story touched me, it was heartbreaking. But as much as I liked her she easily frustrated me. People wanted to her friends and wanted to know her but she pushed them away and it was very frustrating. I had mixed feelings about Daniel. I liked him and then I didn't. He pushed Casey to tell him her story, and even when she did it wasn't enough for him. But then this is where my feelings for Casey were mixed because I wanted her to tell him, but not when she was angry and upset with him. I felt Casey and Daniel both didn't communicate well and took drastic actions on things.
My one major problem I had with this book was the transitions were confusing. One paragraph they would be doing one thing and the next paragraph would be days later. I confused me a lot because I would loose thought on what was supposing to be happening.
Though I didn't get the connection I was hoping, I did enjoy Scratch.

Even though I enjoyed Her Best Shot it was disappointing in many aspects. For one, it was a novella. It was around 130 pages. Yeah, it was a quick and easy read it didn't go into a enough detail for me to really make a connection with Phin or Layla.
Layla just landed a job at the NSA and is ready for a week of partying with her best friends. With this being their last spring break before they graduate they are convinced to make it thier greatest. But, when Layla's car breaks down and she runs low on money those plans are put on hold. Spring break is turning into a disaster until she meets Phin. A pool hustler.
Phin was an interesting character. He is a former Gypsy. Having left that life style years before the story takes place. I just didn't know enough about him to really fall in love with him like I wanted to. Layla was hard to relate to as well. I only related to her because she has panic attacks, which is horrible to say but I know how they feel. There just wasn't enough information there. If the novella was a novel and another hundred or two hundred pages then I probably could have related to the characters.
The story its self is what kept me reading. Near the end I was unable to put it down because I needed to know how it would end. I wasn't disappointed in the ending. Her Best Shot was lacking things that a good story needed. I do recommend to anyone looking for a quick weekend read, or a new adult romance.

My feelings were mixed on going into Her Perfect Game. I enjoyed the first book (Her Best Shot) but it was missing some things that I was afraid would be missing in this one. But, Her Perfect Game didn't disappoint me. I was however sad to find that it was only 112 pages long.
I had an easier time relating to Charlie then I did to Layla. Charlie had financial problems, boy troubles and uses video games to escape reality. For the last two years Charlie has been friends with Win, a boy she met on the game. Only Charlie doesn't know that it is her ex, Jonah who has left her three years earlier with out a word. But when Charlie attends Hackfest, the last person she expected to see was Jonah. But Charlie isn't there for him to have a second chance, she is there to win the prize money and nail a job.
I really have nothing bad to say about Her Perfect Game. Just I wish that it was longer and the reader was able to see into Jonah and Charlie's pasts. I wanted to know Charlie's emotions about Sylvie's death. I wanted to know them more. I liked their characters but there still wasn't enough to love them.
Her Perfect Game can be read before Her Best Shot. Both stories start the exact same way. The three friends on the phone with each other talking about spring break. Which I really liked.

Out of the whole Hot & Nerdy series Her Winning Formula is by far my favorite. I was easily able to relate to Felicity, much more then I was able to with Charlie or Layla. In my personal opinion I loved the ending to this one the most, the other two books ended in a similar matter that this one didn't.
Lucas is also my favorite male character from the whole series. There was something about him that drew me to his character more then the others. But the story short, leaving me hungry to know more about Lucas and Felicity. I felt that the first two books were a bit rushed in certain parts, but Her Winning Formula flowed smoothly at a pace that kept you reading.
Felicity, Charlie, and Layla's friendship is something I hope to have with my friends have in the future. Overall I really enjoyed the Hot & Nerdy series. They were short, easy reads that where perfect for a rainy day.

I was up in the air about this book. I don't read reviews on books I am going to read for the sole purpose that it is going to change what I think about the book when I read it. I was really excited for this book though and I went through some blogs and Goodreads to see how it was. I will admit, the reviews made me hesitant. But now that I read it, I do not regret it for a minute. This book was a blood-soaked, action-packed, thriller that will leave you wanting more!
I enjoyed the characters in this book. Both were complex, tough and unique. I Zephyr grew up as a ward, basically an orphan from a young age. He works all day picking up the dead bodies from the Dark Hour, and watches out for his best friend Talan. Meadow grew up with her family, her mother having died when she was a young girl. When she turns sixteen she can take a test to determine if she can work. Meadow passes, and can now help provide for her family. I liked both Meadow and Zephyr they were both different from each other, having different goals for their survival.
I liked the Murder Complex idea. It was interesting and kept me turning the pages. Especially that Zephyr is unknowingly a programmed assassin, created by the government for the purpose to kill people by night and practically be a slave by day.The message (above) is something he hears every time he sets his sights on his target, it managed to give me that chills. But then there is a glitch and he sets his sights on the wrong target, that is when the book fully sinks its claws into you.
This book was full of action. The world that Lindsay created is both bone chilling and terrifying. There was never a dull moment. I love books where the government controls the people, and this book is just that. This book was full of fighting, betrayal and shocking revelations that changed the course of Meadow and Zephyr's lives forever.
What an ending! Talk about being on the edge of your seats! I stared at my book in shock, convinced for a moment or two that my book had to be missing pages. Sadly it wasn't but, I am really excited about the sequel to The Murder Complex. I already have the prequel on my kindle so I am going to dive into that soon!

"Kill.
Destroy.
No escaping.
No turning back.
This is what we must do to survive.
Purge the Earth.
This is the Murder Complex."

I am sad that the series ended :( The book could have so much more added on to it
