I'm going to be honest; it was difficult for me to finish this book. That being said, please take this review as only my personal opinion in terms of preference of what I like to read. I fully understand that this may be someone else's cup of tea. I'm giving it 3 stars, because I can't say the book is objectively bad; but since it's not to my taste, I'm not comfortable rating it higher than 3.

The Positives:

1. Jaxson - he was adorable and likeable.

2. Tyler - a sweet and caring man, who was exactly what Jaxson needed.

3. Colton - for a supposedly angsty teen who had a rough life, honestly he seemed pretty cool.

4. Jaxson's dad - maybe the only supportive / not-annoying member of Jaxson's original circle (before meeting Tyler).

The Negatives:

1. The biggest issue for me was the amount of typos/proofing errors; there were enough that it was distracting to me, especially with misspellings of a MC's name (even in the book's blurb, as of the date this review is written). (I am hesitant to include this in a review, and I'm not trying to be mean, but it was to the level of distracting me from the story.)

2. This is clearly supposed to be a funny book, and all I can say is that my sense of humor must not align. This is no fault of anyone's, but it did detract from my enjoyment of the book.

3. The family & close friends of Jaxson were just ... awful. Sophie was cruel instead of funny. Most of the rest of the family/friends were immature and had no boundaries.

Reed pressuring Jaxson to get piercings and bringing him to someone who would tell him to take several shots of alcohol before getting a piercing seems really irresponsible. Uncle Ryan blurting out about Jaxson's v-card to everyone at dinner - I mean, even if it hadn't been a secret, why would you mock someone for that? The mother and sister honestly seem manipulative. But I think we're supposed to find everyone endearing? I don't even know. Then there's the scene where Jaxson gets roofied, and Tyler grinds up on him. I'm going to be honest -I don't think it was quite as bad as other reviews made it out to be. But I still don't think it's good fodder for a comedic book. I am glad that Tyler's intentions were to allow Jaxson to enjoy dancing, and he still got him home safely and checked on his vitals; plus Ethan warned the club employees about the creepy guy. But, idk, this scene just didn't have good vibes.

Like I said, it's entirely possible that someone else will find this story hilarious. It was not tailored to my sense of humor, and that's ok. But we write reviews to give an honest opinion and let others know specific parts that we did / didn't like. In this case, my enjoyment of the MCs was overshadowed by typos, side characters, and comedy style.

This was a delight. And it’s the first omegaverse book I’ve enjoyed (the second one I’ve read). So now it has opened me up to a whole new world of books I can try.

I love how schmoopy this book was; and somehow it managed to convey a panic and social anxiety disorder (which I related to as I experience that myself), while still being low angst. Loved it! Will probably read it again sometime.
