What I thought this book was going to be about (mystery and adventures in an underground French palace, Indiana Jones-style) and what it's actually about resulted in a frustrated reading experience; I found myself skimming a LOT.

A DROP OF NIGHT falls more into the horror genre than the mystery/adventure genre, and I don't really do horror. Simply put, it wasn't for me, but that doesn't mean that it's not for others!

I will never ever NEVER forget Taylor Rene Krystal Hawkins. This book was a real scream, full of seriously funny writing and girl power!

UPDATE: I re-read this by listening to it on audio, and Libba Bray is the narrator! She does a great job and I may have enjoyed it EVEN MORE the second time around.
