This series just gets darker and more complex. I'm hooked!

Lovong this so far! Inspired by Beauty and the Beast, this tale of a young woman in 15th century Norway who agrees to accompany a bewitched isbjorn (polar bear) in exchange for her family's rescue from poverty ...

Boring. I mean, there isn't much originality here except that he's managed to lift some fairytale plotlines and inject them into his story. I ended up skimming it to the end. Paranormal YA has just been done to death and I can't bring myself to read another one that isn't at the very least original and somewhat well-written.

This is the sort of book you want to curl up and read to a child. The prose is so fun and rich; each chapter feels like a new story and it's very reminiscent of Victorian fairytales in the vein of Alice in Wonderland - except September is much more likeable than Alice. The story did sort of lose me at times. It was originally published as a web series, which is rather evident in its structure.

Really just didn't enjoy this one nearly as much at the first one. It feels like the author had no idea that the first one would be a success and was really scraping the barrel for more stories/myths to base this story around. I think I will read skim the rest and give the 3rd a try anyways.
