A steampunk western set in a world with paranormal creatures COULD feel like genre overload, but I promise you that is NOT the case.

There's so much to love about this book; the established relationships that we're immediately drawn into, the layered world-building, the compelling side characters (can I please get an entire novella devoted to Bena and her people?), and a foreboding sense of DOOM that you can't quite put your finger on until it's too late.

I pretty much devoured this book. I think you will too.

Loving it just as much the second time around. It's fantastic to listen to on audio; it makes the flapper slang a bit less distracting as the actress who is narrating the book does such a great job of making all of the characters sound like they are straight out of the 20's.

I'm trying to get through my huge pile of ARCs for October, so I read the first 1/3 of this and skimmed the rest. Loved the originality of the world being centered around relationships with birds of prey! It's a really strong start to what could be a pretty epic series.

I love Scott and Nadia, but this was way too heavy on science for me...

A galaxy full of stars for this lovely, steamy, romantic read. I can't wait for Hoang's next book!!
