This entire series is incredible!
Definitely worth the time it took to read, even if I can't Split and access the Quiet.
While I was certain pretty early on that Darren was, the trip to get to that conclusion was great! I'm already starting the second book because Cliffhanger! Sort of.

both Reader and Pusher
While I did race through this series, I thoroughly enjoyed them all, including and especially the conclusion! It often happens that the final book lacks a certain something either by trying to tie up every loose end, not tying up any, or just going off in a completely different direction and taking away from the experience, that did not happen here!
This series is definitely a set of books I will read again in the future and it's put Dima Zales on my "to watch" list in terms of other books. I cannot wait to read more from him!

A nice little break from the murder books I'm also reading and a good intro to the series to get me hooked and ready to read them all! Amusingly enough, though, this short story is all about murder!
I absolutely love these books! Kira and Jason are fantastic together and Kira's daughter just makes me want to die laughing! Kira's daughter is, surprisingly, integral to the love story, but not in a creepy way.
Without giving much away, but with a slight spoiler alert:
“Dude, I don’t need your help. And spoiler alert: just because I walk weird doesn’t mean I’m stupid. So stop treating me like I’m a baby or something.” She grabbed a can of soda from the fridge and stalked out of the kitchen.
That first interaction went well, don't you think?! Hahaha! But the way Jason and Riley rebound from their rocky start is pure magic!
I'm so in love with this entire series and it only gets better! I'm lucky enough to be a beta reader and received an advanced copy of the book in exchange for a review, but Gina Drayer is on my auto-buy list for life! And any time I meet someone who says they're interested in happily-ever-after, lighthearted romance, I point them straight to these books! (Now I just need print copies available for those luddites that won't use an ereader!)

This quote is from their Jason and Riley's first interaction.“Dude, I don’t need your help. And spoiler alert: just because I walk weird doesn’t mean I’m stupid. So stop treating me like I’m a baby or something.” She grabbed a can of soda from the fridge and stalked out of the kitchen.

Absolutely loved this novella! It's a wonderful addition to the MGG series!!!
That ending... O_O Wow... That was incredible.
So this one picks up immediately after the second book left off and, of course, has tons of awesomeness in it. Jae goes to join the battle and hilarity ensues! Okay, not really. But Jae meets some new people, new family members, and learns more about himself than I expected.
See, I was still somewhat convinced that we had discovered that his real father was the king and not Ulric based on how he behaved in regards to his oath to the become a dragonrider. Clearly I was wrong as it's confirmed multiple times that the king is not his father, but the king also isn't the king. *dramatic music*

This one started out slow and actually backtracks a ways into the previous book. I'm not sure how I feel about it being a split point-of-view, but it starts out with Felix realizing Jae isn't coming back from their first battle. There is a lot of introspection, some romance, some personal stuff that most of which could have been completely left out I think, but that takes up the first third of the book, approximately.
Then we switch to Jae's perspective and things get a bit more involved, the action starts happening, and I can't say much else or I'll want to spoil everything! But in spite of it's slow start and obvious set-up for another series in this universe (which I'll definitely read), it's a good solid ending. I loved it. And yes, I even loved that mushy personal stuff at the beginning. :-p

While I'm not normally one to read a book and then praise the agenda, this book is all about a specific political and social agenda. Namely, inclusion. It's beautiful. My niece and nephew will both be reading these with me to learn that differences are not bad and that unusual is not wrong.
I'm so pleased with how this turned out. I didn't realize that there would be another book after this one, but I'm looking forward to it. Inclusion, acceptance, tolerance, anti-bullying - these books should be in classrooms and libraries for young (and old) readers everywhere. There's even a bit of "understanding that your parents won't always accept you" thrown in there, too, and a little touch on dealing with that by accepting yourself regardless of their acceptance (or lack thereof).
