As someone who isn't a huge fan of historical romances (I overindulged in my youth), I read this one not certain that I would enjoy it but out of curiosity for how a trans heroine would work in such a setting. And I am so very glad I did because it was amazing!!

Some of the writing was tedious for me, but it's a hallmark of historical romances and why I generally avoid them, but it wasn't enough to stop me from devouring the story.

This was such a great book! I'm already looking forward to the next ones in the series, although I don't think they're out yet.
