I'm sorry what!? I thought I was getting a very specific type of story and I did NOT and I don't know what to feel about that!!
I guess I thought I would be getting more of an autobiography rather than a lecture on why you should be an atheist. I'm already an atheist. I get it. I know there's a lot about the Bible that just doesn't make sense and that outright contradicts itself. That's not why I picked this book up.
I'm actually not a huge fan of "A Christmas Carol" mostly because it's just done so much. I've seen and read so many variations of this story over the years... I enjoy a couple versions (looking at you Muppets!), but when I saw the narrator I knew I needed to listen to this one.
Every single bit of this was educational, informative, and necessary!
I picked this book on a whim because, as a white woman, I'm well aware of just how problematic white women can be. I knew in abstract that the feminist movement was problematic regarding racism due to random tidbits I've read. I knew that the person who founded Planned Parenthood, while arguably a great organization in this day and age, wanted to sterilize large groups of people that she didn't think should be allowed to reproduce.
I'm glad to have found this book.

This was rather short and now I'm really looking forward to finding some more works from this author. It was well written, in my opinion, and while it repeated a lot of stuff I already knew, it has an interesting way of educating. I appreciated it.
This was a very cute soft-sci-fi for children that included some real science explanations. I definitely enjoyed it.
I already knew a bit about this topic, enough to know that there was much I didn't know. But I was astonished at just how much it was that I didn't know.
I'll be reading this book again. Soon.
And if you are working in any area of law enforcement or the criminal justice sector, you need to read this. Like, yesterday. Read this.

Riley Kennedy or Kennedy Riley? If I didn't know a married couple that had the same first name and then the gendered variants of the same middle name, I would probably say this was just weird as shit. But it works, I guess. It provides the initial conflict for the story, at least.
I just wish I had realized that "sizzling" meant "would involved graphic enough sex scenes" because I did not expect that while listening.
It was alright, but didn't do much to get me in the Christmas mood, just kind of grossed me out overall.

I wasn't sure what to expect from a holiday Hannukah story. Most Christmas stories I read tend to drop most of the religious bits out, which I prefer, but the religious bits in this story weren't overwhelming or anything.
While I thought one spoilery bit was kind of weird (Tamara's decisions - this will make sense at the end), I did think it was a cute story overall. It definitely helped boost my overall holiday mood.

I loved the idea of the story, but was so disappointed in the "we're going to violate patient/medical staff confidentiality because we know better than our patient" plot line. Don't get me wrong, I loved the outcome, but I feel like it was done as an easy way out instead of figuring out a better way.
Either way, the love story was sweet. I could have done without some of the more religiousy bits, but I know what I'm getting into with a Christmas story.
