This book has been speaking right to my soul this week -- grateful for the words and wisdom of this one in this exact season of my life. This one talks so much about the hard yet precious gift of the unseen seasons and circumstances, the ones where we feel like nobody notices the hard work we are doing or sees how much we're trying or appreciates our efforts and our hearts, and it affirms that God sees us and values us despite how it might seem or feel. Sara -- thank you for speaking to the beauty that comes from the inner work we do that nobody sees and the hidden places where God moves in us to draw us closer to Himself and deeper in truth about who we are. This one was a gift to me.

ps--I received this one from Booklook Bloggers to review!

Reading People is the first book Anne Bogel has written, and you guys, it's so good! Anne has long been my most trusted book-recommender (her podcast is amazing and always so fun to listen to!) and one of my very favorite bloggers, so I was thrilled to see her write a book of her own, especially one that is such a marriage of my favorite things! It was a joy to be chosen to join the launch team for this one (heads up, there are affiliate links in this post, and you should know I was sent a free copy to read and review with you all!) -- I was dying to read it anyway.

If you are interested in personality types at ALL, grab this one. I'm serious. If you're curious about the ways that WHO you are affects HOW you are and WHY you are, grab this one. If you like trying to figure people out or better understand yourself, grab this one!

For as much of a personality type nerd I am, there was still SO much I learned in this book, especially about the cognitive functions and deeper levels to the MBTI! I especially loved the Enneagram talk since I'm fascinated by all things Enneagram and can't stop reading/talking about it... But there wasn't a single chapter that didn't teach me something new, help me understand myself a little better, and give me something new to think about.

This one is fun (not heavy at ALL!), delightfully written, conversational, easy to read, and still full of great, helpful information about all kinds of personality aspects.

Hope you all love this one as much as I do!

I have pages full of quotes I couldn't help but copy down, I have new phrases etched in my mind that I know I'll use often in conversation, I have a deeper appreciation for the wilderness and a greater understanding for how to both brave it and become it... This book is top notch. @brenebrown has done it again-- giving us words and wisdom that speak right to the heart of all the most important things about who we are and why we are and how to be better. I highly, highly recommend this one. Just listen to this: "The special courage it takes to experience true belonging is not just about braving the wilderness, it's about becoming the wilderness. It's about breaking down the walls, abandoning the ideological bunkers, and living from our wild heart rather than our weary hurt." That'll preach.

You should know by now I am a BIG personality type nerd, the Enneagram especially! I preordered this one from Heuertz a while ago and dove right in when it showed up on my doorstep. There's a lot of helpful foundational Enneagram info in this one (which, if you know a lot about it already, might not be new to you) and also a LOT of new info I hadn't heard before and loved. The faith focus of this one is beautiful, and I'm so grateful for the ways Chris layered different aspects of the Enneagram to really add complexity and understanding to my knowledge of my type and all others. I learned a LOT and wrote many "!!!" and "how did he know?!" in the margins... This one was just GOOD.
