a "soft dom" short king and a plus-sized tatted baddie... 12-ish days of STEAMY shenanigans... not for PG readers hehe, this was fun but didn't wow me
after reading book #1 for book club and hearing people say this one was even better, i RUSHED to read it, and was NOT disappointed. it had the same hooked feeling but didn't rely on the same twists and turns, and had me totally gripped! v good.
literally 32 pages... and nothing happened? the characters didn't develop at all? like, at least try...
it's closed door and chill and it counts as a book read, so there's that?

I LOVED THIS. MORE HOLIDAY NOVELLAS LIKE THIS. best tropes. best characters. connor stella FOREVER. claireful?!?! COME ON. adored it.
did i cringe all over again at the whole family with flower names? whose parents are florists? ...yes.
this one has some tropes i genuinely love (high school sweethearts + second chance romance! marriage of convenience!) but it just didn't click fully for me, and felt like a tired plot that was missing a new or creative spark. i was bored for the first half, but the characters did grow on me a bit, but it just felt really light and fluffy without any sort of sparkle or real heart or depth to it that i really love in my romance reads.
sadly, not a favorite!

CUUUUUTEST holiday novella! don’t mind me finding all the sweet and short (and steamy 🥵) reads i can get my hands on because i’m determined to crush my reading goal and also to find escapism this season!!!
this sapphic love story has the best fake dating set up, the most adorable friends to lovers and queer awakening storyline, some tender family moments, some reaaaally spicy scenes, and all the best christmas time magic too! i loved it 😍

a powerful, hard to read, illuminating, heartbreaking, heavy, gripping story of a palestinian woman held captive in an israeli prison for being a terrorist. the way nahr tells her story had me completely engrossed. it’s fiction but also, it isn’t, you know? this put a full fleshed out story to what life in the middle east is like, and i’m so glad i read it, and read it now. 🤍 note that there are many trigger warnings for this one, and i personally felt that while gut wrenching to read at times, i needed to immerse myself in this one despite — and because of— the heaviness of it all.
