was so intrigued by the concept of this one, but it totally fell flat and ended up being a DNF for me 👎🏼 it was so repetitive and never seemed to actually progress in the storyline, and there were so so SO many plot holes i could not get over! but the idea of a magical attic providing a new husband every time one goes up into it? not mad about that idea…
imagine a survival reality show setting, but then throw in a hunger games-esque layer of who is controlling the game behind the scenes, and mix in a post-apocalyptic pandemic a la station eleven or the road, and you have this book. it’s… bonkers. a mind trip, for sure! it made me stressed, tbh 😅
if you finished #bridgerton but want more regency romance/jane austen vibes, this is the book for you!

an eldest daughter takes it upon herself to provide for her sisters after their parents both die, and to do so, she needs a ✨rich man✨
her journey to finding one has its wrinkles, but i personally LOVE how it played out, with a great enemies-to-lovers slow burn plot!
