If you (and/or your kiddos!) love billy sooks about runny babbits and thilly sings, you’ll love this one from Silverstein! (I will confess: it drove me CRAZY that all the starting letters of words were switched around, but I know kids would find it hilarious!)

Ida Keeling amazes me. I had never heard of her before, but I’m so glad I read this memoir/autobiography from her— her life was filled with challenges and grief and obstacles to overcome, yet here she is at over 100 years old chasing her passion of running (and setting records doing it)! This was a fun one to read and it gave me such great insight into what it was like for a Black woman to grow up over the last 100 years, facing opposition and resistance on so many fronts, yet constantly overcoming. So uplifting!

Kaitlin's is a voice I have loved following on Twitter, and this book was a beautiful and poetic experience of more of her heart for worship and finding glory in everything. The chapters are short, but I didn’t find them lacking, and they read instead like brief meditations and reflections on snippets of life and faith that encouraged me to open my own eyes to see glory around me, too.

Big fan of everything I’ve seen from Samuelsson, and this book and his life story were fun to dive into. He has a great voice and there was so much I didn’t know about what it takes to make it in the food world— so glad I grabbed this one.

I did this backwards and saw the new Netflix movie first (I never ever do that!) but knew i wanted to go back and read this one and the two that follow— they are the perfect light, cute, fun, quirky, and charming YA stories.

This was a fun one! My favorite kind of fiction— more than just “chick lit,” with great characters, interesting storylines, believable drama and conflict, just predictable enough with moments of surprise still. I thoroughly enjoyed it and can’t wait to see how the upcoming movie compares!
