Very beautiful prose and atmospheric setting. Loved the sentient house, it was my favourite character. 

The book has a very flawed fmc who is willing to do anything for her brother, but forgot to ask her brother what he wanted. She can be dislikeable because of that, but I found myself liking her, flaws and all.

This book has footnotes and has sections where a character is being told a story, which might bother some readers. Personally it did not affect my reading experience.

Finally a romance that's not insta-love and where the people involved aren't the hottest two people to ever exists.

The ache I got from reading this... 5 stars

For everyone who saw the movie and thought the Nick and Gatsby should kiss.

Didn't really tell me anything I didn't already know about that man.

A cute romance. Is it rivals to lovers? Debatable. I thought they got over that pretty quick. They develop a very supportive and healthy relationship. 

Other things dealt with: complicated families, anxiety and fear of failure. Thought these were done pretty well. 

The timeline was pretty hazy to me. But that might be my fault for not paying proper attention.

The stories had potential but the shoddy translation ruined any emotional impact

It was light hearted when I needed it. The twist was predictable tho. I get why people find the main character annoying but tbh I just shook my head at her because her behavior was so me when my anxiety was at its worst.
