A rom-com that takes place during a fictional Great British Bake-Off by the author of Boyfriend Material? Yes please! It was cute, it was fun, and overall I really liked it. It didn't live all the way up to Boyfriend Material for me, which was one of my favorite reads of last year, but I really enjoyed the story overall! I'm looking forward to the future books in this series!

The information in this book was fascinating, and the thoughts and connections to James Baldwin was so interesting to read. I don't know a lot about Baldwin, and while this wasn't a biography I still learned a lot. In fact, read in the context of not only Baldwin's life but how his life mirrors life now made it even more meaningful.

I have a hard time figuring out how I feel about this book. I liked parts of it and wasn't enough into other parts of it. While I liked the main character,  the mystery element was interesting but didn't have the best payoff. The best part for me was the Native culture that was throughout. It taught me a lot and was the most beautiful part of the book. I hope this author keeps writing, as I am really interested in other things she writes!

This was a good second book for Casey McQuinston, but for me it wasn't as good as Red, White, and Royal Blue. I still really liked it and enjoyed all of the characters a lot! A lot of it was fun and engaging. It just missed that spark that RWRB had for me. I'm glad I read it, but I probably won't come back to it as much as I will RWRB.

So much fun!! I had no idea what to expect with this book, but the characters were fantastic. There were many moments that had me laughing out loud. The treasure hunt was fun and had a good payoff for the plot, but for me it was the fun characters that sold it!
fast-paced

Such a cute love story! So adorable, and the characters were great. I can see this developing into a series. It wasn't as fleshed out as some other rom-coms I've read, but I enjoyed it so much I didn't mind!
slow-paced

I wanted to like this book so much more than I did. It had such potential, and such a great cover, that I was so excited to read it. Unfortunately I was disappointed. The characters were never really developed for me, and the pacing was really off. The quick cuts in the scenes did not really work, and the final reveal was not earned for me.
medium-paced

Jasmine Guillory's books never disappoint! While the plots can be fairly predictable, her writing makes me keep coming back regardless. This book, with Anna and Ben, was heartwarming and fun. The fame element of this one made it stand out, and it's probably in my top three of her books!

This was pure magic. It had strong Daisy Jones vibes, but Jane Quinn is so different than Daisy that it isn't the exact same. Jesse and Jane's story is emotional, deep, and fascinating. I could definitely see this being made into a movie and I would love to see that.

I've heard so much about this series, and I was so happy to find that it lives up to the hype! I loved both Chloe and Red and their love story. It felt so real and completely swept me up, plus the spicy scenes were pretty great ;)
