This is one of those reading experiences that makes me question if my brain is broken lol, because I did not enjoy this nearly as much as other people seem to have. I enjoyed the banter and the overall situation for the romance, but it was the characters that made me question things. I really had issues with Helen’s issues, mainly at the end. The pacing at the end suddenly got way too much. If I were Helen, I don’t know that I would have gotten over grants involvement in Michelle’s death. But, I found the spicy scenes worked really well and i really enjoyed the chemistry between the characters!

If this book was about 100 pages shorter, I think I would have given it 5 stars. The last act of this book was great, and I grew to really enjoy Hannah as a narrator. Lord depicted grief incredibly well all throughout, and the side characters were fun and well developed. I only have an issue with the pacing. The beginning was a bit slow to me, and by the time I got to the end I found I had lost track of some of the plot points from the beginning, especially the relationships between different characters. Still, the ending was incredibly strong and had an overall good message.
