This was sweet and incredibly cheesy. Parts of it made me roll my eyes, but I enjoyed the Christmas-y joy. 

I ended up actually enjoying this! I liked the chemistry between the characters, even if it was a bit much sometimes. I really liked felicity and her personality. I liked Devil most of the time, except when he got really complainy and convinced he didn’t deserve anything good. I might even finish this series!

This was a fun ride. I love a heist, especially one where things seem to go wrong but ultimately the good guys end up on top. My biggest complaint was that the book felt a little too long. While I enjoyed getting to know all the drag queens a little more, ultimately it wasn't very relevant to the plot and felt almost distracting at times. But, overall, very fun and enjoyable read!

This is what I wanted People We Meet on Vacation to be. This new relationship founded on an old one that fell apart worked so well in this story, even if you saw where it was going. Katrina and Nathan were interesting and complicated, and I loved their chemistry. 

Rin is such a difficult protagonist, being one of the best anti-heroes I’ve read in a long time. At almost every turn she does something I disagree with that creates untold suffering, but I understand why she does those things. I was swept up into this world, and the unflinching violence and death that fills the pages was horrifying but realistic. RF Kuang really can do no wrong in my book. 

Of all of TJR’s books that I’ve read, this one is one of the more “meh” for me. For a book that was so in Carrie’s head, I still felt like it was still somehow surface level. I liked her biting humor and her drive, but those things were also annoying at times. Her dad was so sweet, even though his early training of Carrie I found much sometimes. I also fully understand and appreciate the criticism of this book in regards to the Latinx representation. This did not feel like a book that was honoring the background of the protagonist, but merely used Spanish as a “cute” feature sometimes, and always rang insincere with knowing who the author is. 

Really emotional and moving, and a cool mix of poetry and graphic novel!
