The writing in this was very good! It had a very classic feeling to me. It was also very dark at times, which wasn’t what I expected. I don’t know that loved all the turns it took, but it was definitely an interesting read!
A pretty solid mystery that had great characters. Lana was great, and Beth and Jack also got their time to shine. Pretty enjoyable overall!
Rebecca Ross is definitely a talented writer, and how she ended this duology was great. There was some cool complexity to the world and some good twists and emotional moments.
If I had read this in one go, I would probably have rated it higher to be honest. Jemisin is amazing, and this end to the duology was exciting and thought provoking. I loved this world and the ways Jemisin was processing our modern world.
I loved this book so much. The way the author spoke about grief was so heartfelt and mirrored my own experiences. Her art was beautiful and emotional, and it felt very cathartic to read this book.
I enjoyed the art style, and her grandmothers story was especially intriguing, but the other parts of this memoir weren’t as strong for me.
Really emotional and sweet. I loved the various characters and how much you could tell this experience meant to the author. I also love his art style and it worked well in this book.
