I always love Heartstopper books, but they are a bit light on actual plot. But Charlie and Nick are precious, and I really enjoy how much care is given to telling teenagers stories. 

If more sports books were this heartfelt, I would probably enjoy them more! This book made me interested in baseball, which is a huge compliment. Gene and Luis had my full heart the entire time, and if anything bad ever happens to them I will riot. 

I think this is a perfect book. 

Parts of this I really liked, and others were pretty lacking to me. The romance in general didn't work for me, mainly because Lou felt underdeveloped. The supposed conflict there I never understood, either, and especially disliked how people basically told Oscar to fall for her. The bright part of this, though, was Farfar. He was a delight from start to finish, but I'm pretty partial to stories about grandfathers. 

WOW. This book had be tearing up on almost every page. What a beautiful and heart-wrenching depiction of grief and guilt. This was gorgeous. 

A very fun second book in this series. I’m fully in on Veronica and Stoker! And some very good writing throughout as well. 

This is hard to review, because while I see the craft behind this book I can’t say I enjoyed it very much. It feels very literary and I know why people like it’d but my own personal enjoyment wasn’t very high. I can feel Dickens’s influence on this and appreciate that, but I don’t know if I’ll come back to this story again.
