Okay, wow. Definitely check the trigger warnings, but so worth it if you can handle the subject matter, and such an important conversation. Starts off slow, but picks up speed toward the end as Melinda starts to find her voice again. Also really recommend reading the afterword and the author interview at the end, if you're someone who normally skips those.

To be completely fair to the author, my rating is how I personally liked it, not a reflection of the writing. It was really well written, just not written for me. It was weird, uncomfortable, alarming, and I'm still not entirely sure what happened. If you like that, this is your book!
