Bike Snob: Systematically & Mercilessly Realigning the World of Cycling

Pleasant graphic design. The author complained a lot about hipsters, which is a classic hipster trait in my book.

Almost 200 pages in and I think this book is just not for me. Nothing wrong with it, but 650 pages are a lot of pages when you aren't thaaat interested.

Modern Romance

I'm sorry, I gave this book an honest try and it just isn't for me. I don't think Ansari is funny-- in the book, stand-up, or in the show-- and I am tired of hearing about how my generation does everything wrong all the time. Not my fault that people have such high expectations for everything that everything is going to hell in a handbasket.

If your humor style is "baby boomer complaining about things that aren't actually problems; you're just an asshole" then you might find this book funny. I gave this book a solid 35% read, and never even got close to cracking a smile.

Apesar que eu desistisse, esta conta seria gostoso de ler com crianças. :)

I gave this book two tries. The first time was an ARC and the second an audiobook from the library. I had thought that the first time I didn’t want to read it because sometimes I dislike reading pdfs. I really enjoy audiobooks and I still could not get into it. Too bad; the premise seemed interesting.

Children of Blood and Bone

I tried sooo hard to like this book!! But I gave up at the 50% mark. I kinda liked everything? But I wasn’t in the mood? Idk, maybe I will try it again later. I think this book’s existence is important and worthy of the hype, but as far as an awesome fantasy goes.... I just didn’t care enough about the characters to keep slogging through.

True Crime Addict: How I Lost Myself in the Mysterious Disappearance of Maura Murray

James Renner

DNF at 20%: the author constantly does things that he thinks makes him sound cool and makes everyone else think he’s a douchebag. I started to get the feeling that this book is more about his own life than about a possible crime, and also that he would not solve the case by the end of the book. After reading other reviews, I decided to not finish this book because my suspicions were correct. Read some of the 1-starred reviews to get a sense of this nonsense.

Talk to My Back

DNF @ 25%

I actually think the art style and the honesty about being a stay at home mom in Japan was refreshing. I'm just not a mom so I didn't identify with the internal monologue to read 300+ pages of it.

Desert Solitaire: A Season in the Wilderness (Edward Abbey Collection)

DNF @ 60%

I enjoyed the descriptions of the desert; it is something I miss. And there is a place for hearing other people's politics even if they slant racist and you don't agree. But the man is arrogant and the pace so slow... it's like a being on a hike with someone who won't shut up.
