The first time I read Catcher, I was the same age as Holden. I was dealing with too little sleep, too much musical practice, and having a gland infection so bad I couldn't produce any sound and talked to all my teachers through a whiteboard. I was in no mood to listen to some spoiled brat complain for 300 or so pages. Four and a half years later, I still hate Holden but I think I understand him better. He's still a phony sonuvabitch though.
Fanny Price is like this shaking pathetic street puppy who on one hand you want to cuddle reassure that everything will be alright, but on the other hand you just want to walk past without eye contact and hope they toughen up on their own.
Paulina is basically the greatest, sassiest character ever. Your faves could never.
Ignoring everything I said a year ago. The second time was much better. What a difference close reading makes.
I guess watching this would be a lot better than reading it. Also I didn't like Falstaff so another play about him... No.
