I really love Tig Notaro's Live, a comedy album of a performance she did talking about her infectious disease C-Diff and serious health decline, her mother's passing, her breakup, and her cancer diagnosis, which all happened within a few months of each other. This memoir focuses heavily on the events Tig discusses in Live, in a very raw and honest manner. Her delivery in the audiobook was perfect, and matched the gloomy weather of the past couple days very well.
This was my first reread in a while, and I forgot how much I loved this book. I forgotten that Auden and her mom start off the book being rather anti women, or at least anti girlishness, and this notion is completely flipped on its head. Maggie and Heidi are some of the best Dessen supporting characters.
Also the Jason Talbot appearance... Oh Jason.

Wow. I guess I could see why people didn't like this volume as much, but I thought it was fabulous. Tara's story was AMAZING, one of the best issues in this series so far. The art of this series is beyond real, but I loved the guest artists. The changing visuals as we focused in on a different god was perfect. And what a cliffhanger! Excited for the next volume.
I absolutely loved the narration on this audiobook. I'm really interested in seeing what else these voice actors have recorded. But narration wasn't enough for me to love the book. This is definitely only two stars without the narration. I liked how complex and flawed the female characters were allowed to be, but the mystery wasn't compelling. This is certainly no Gone Girl, and I'm a little disappointed by the comparison.
Honestly the extra star was for the reappearance of Sophie and the Bridgerton brother shenanigans
I loved the second half of this book, but it felt completely different from the first half, which was pretty much all over the place.
