I hope the next book has the same spark as the first. I feel like this one fell into classic middle book syndrome of not really telling a full story.

I realized how uninvested I was in this series when I could not remember a single thing that happened except for the cliffhanger of the last book. I couldn't even remember Rory's name. However Sid and Sadie are super promising characters and I do enjoy Maureen's writing, so I'm sure I'll read the final book.

I think English teachers should use this book as an example of the importance of "showing not telling," because it didn't show a damn thing.
