Thereโ€™s one word for this book and itโ€™s โ€œintenseโ€! The intensity of this book started early on and kept going right until the end. Nearly right from the beginning I decided I hated the characters. Not in a way that it ruins the book, but they for sure made some questionable choices. I thought whatever was coming to them Iโ€™d be at least indifferent to but instead I found myself rooting for them. As it came closer to the end I had to remind myself that most of the events in this book took place in a single night. Talk about an eventful night! This was one of those books where you keep telling yourself โ€œone more chapterโ€ because you need to see what happens next. In order to not spoil anything the only thing more I have to say isโ€ฆ that ending! Loved it!

December was full of only okay books so this was a great first book to start the year off right!

โ€œBelieve it or not, I didnโ€™t plan to hit a witch with my car today.โ€ He shifted the gear stick into first and accelerated down the street. โ€œIt was on the agenda for tomorrow.โ€

The beauty of this series is you donโ€™t have to read it in order. There are small references throughout to the previous book so if you want to be completely in the loop then Iโ€™d recommend reading them in order, however it is not necessary. Me being the way that I am though I could never bring myself to do this! Much like the first book, the last quarter is where the action and main problem of the story seemed to take place. With it being so close to the end it almost felt like an afterthought. I didnโ€™t mind this though. When I read paranormal romance I expect it to be mostly romance anyway. Iโ€™ll probably be reading a book a month of this series with my buddy read so expect a review for the third book next month!
