It wasn't bad, it was just not good enough for me to want to read this over other books.

Sir I picked up a book called A world without police, I know that the police isn't cool.

Got bored with the unending exposition of police crimes, checked reviews, looks like it's entirely like this with a few basic strategies and not a book about strategies. I'll pass.

I will have forgotten this book in 3 days but had a great time reading it.

I do hope the author got paid by atomic. If not, maybe the sponsoring shtick could have been anonymized a bit, because that was A LOT. Also, I don't think the story would have needed any major changes with 20 and 22yo characters, and it would maybe have made me cringe less on several occasions. This just didn't feel like a high school romance.

HOWEVER. What a cute read! Skiing! Hot lesbians! Friends to lovers! This made me happy!!

An ending that shows character growth is better if the story also has character growth. This book was a complete disappointment for me, unfortunately.

Amazing read, a moment of wonderful reading that breaks my recent streak of not being compelled by books. This is what I needed- a novel for adults, hard themes laced with hope, a trans narrator who just happens to be trans the way she could be blue eyed.

I've seen this book compared with Circe about a million times, so I'm going to start by doing the same: Yes, this is similar to Circe in its premise. But it's much less dense and verbose, and it's also more in-your-face with its "women suffer the consequences from men's actions in Ancient Greek mythology" underlying theme.

Ariadne is a great read, one that I preferred to Circe for its writing style, and I'd recommend starting with this one as more of an introduction to the theme. It also verges more on the genre of young adult and might be more fun for a younger audience.

All in all, a really nice read with a lovable, broken heroine who observes the world she knows and tries to find the common themes with more or less accuracy.
