I am not a romance gal, but this premise felt too good to pass up. Glad I didn’t - super fun, while also throwing in some good dialogue around sex & consent/checking in/pleasure. Had me giggling at points and didn’t feel too cheesy (a little bit so, but not so much to detract from my enjoyment!). Would recommend when you need something lighthearted and positive!

I saw a tiktok with the author who described her main character as “unhinged”. She is right. But I loved it. 

It was a fun read. It’s new adult (I think) but reads like YA, so good if you’re in the mood for a lighthearted, magical read.  I didn’t find the main character’s motivations all that compelling - I wish some other details, characters, etc. were more fleshed out so I had something else to root for.  Still fun though, would have been excellent to read in the fall and not January. 

This book is quite the achievement. There’s so much going on whether it’s focusing on physics, politics, philosophy—it’s quite impressive. However, I think I know now that I like character-driven stories and don’t care as much for the nitty gritty “this is why this works” type. This book felt heavily focused on little details and my little big-picture brain couldn’t handle it. So if you do like little details and more of an emphasis on plot or mystery, this book is for you.
